Customer was relying on Gas Generators for a major portion of their power Generation. The additional load requirement was fulfilled through HFO Generators, customer faces huge production losses when Gas is unavailable or Gas pressure is not adequate. The customer decided to connect Gridline to make its system fully redundant and no compromise on production in case of Gas shortage with Gas, HFO, and Grid sources are available to feed the load.
The customer had three different Power Generating sections, these are divided according to the load priorities & criticalities, they need a fully flexible and reliable system that enables the customer to utilize source available at any section to be able to feed load on any other section and they can isolate section or close section at any time during operation.
Enercon Systems International (Pvt.) Ltd provided Generator Synchronization systems that have brought all power sources connected via a redundant communication line, The operation is now centralized and all possible operating scenarios can be performed via a single touch from the Master panel.
Synchronizing and Load sharing of 07 GEN-SETS

All the Gas Gen-set were running at Power Mode. To sustain the factory torque (variable load) organization was using different Gen-set with different controller, however this process was inefficient.
Need a complete generator control upgrade to manage and monitor the entire power plant load to shrink the power load to make it more efficient and cost-effective.
Enercon Systems International (Pvt.) Ltd set all the Gas Gen-set at Load sharing (island mode) instead of power mode which results all the Gas Generators started bearing the Torque (variable loads). The solution includes: Designing of the Power Management, Supply and Commission the Synchronization and Load Sharing System.

Soorty Enterprises is one of the biggest textile groups in Pakistan. They wanted to set up a new power plant – Unit 14 in Karachi and were looking for a reliable control system with exquisite quality. Need a complete generator control and synchronization system for paralleling of generator with each other and with Grid as well as Solar power. Also manage and monitor the entire power plant load to make it more efficient and reliable system.

Ltd set all the Gas Gen-set at Load sharing (island mode) and Base-load Mode (Power mode) which results in all the Gas Generators started baring the Torque (variable loads). Also, provide the provision for parallel with Grid Source and Solar Power Source. The solution includes Designing the Power Management, Supply and Commission Synchronization, and Load Sharing System. Enercon offered PLC-based architecture which offers flexibility, adaptability, and provision for future expansions. A central HMI was provided for operators monitor & Master controlling.

Lucky Energy has a total of 13 Gas Generators (including the Jenbacher, Caterpillar 3500 series, and CAT CG Series formerly MWM ) running parallel in the Island operation. Since all Generators were operating on different communication protocol, In the event of sudden variation in load, the response time of each generator was different, some time it could cause tripping of 1-2 Generators and eventually lead to a complete blackout of the plant, causing a huge amount of production & monetary loss for the customer.
Due to different brands of generators and control, customers could not handle the plant efficiently and the plant remained at the risk of black shutdown. Most of the Engines are running in power mode which compromises the torque bearing capacity of the plant.
The site had a different brand of Engines with different proprietary controls. So, it was very complex to run the plant without equal & proportionate sharing of load among all Generators.
In order to simplify the plant operation and to avoid the risk of a blackout, Enercon provided a centralized Master panel and common load sharing controls on all generators, After commissioning of Enercon controls, the customer now can freely run any number of Generators depending on his load requirement, In addition to central monitoring of the whole plant, Master Panel also provides important functions of Load sense load Demand Management, load shedding Management, Neutral Grounding Resistor Controlling, Steam monitoring, and any additional customized data monitoring and control.
